The Hidden Salt Culprits

Do you really know what's in your food?

You might think you're making a healthy choice with a salad or a bowl of Yong Tau Foo (extra veggies!), but these seemingly innocent options can be sneaky salt traps.

Many processed and prepared foods are loaded with sodium, and it's not just in the obvious culprits like chips or instant noodles. Even foods we often consider 'healthy' like wholemeal bread, breakfast cereals, or salad dressings - can pack a surprising sodium punch, and even more so for our meals at restaurants and hawker centres (where we don't know how much salt and sauces go into our food...)

"Out of sight, out of mind" – It's time to stop this mentality!

In Singapore, our sodium intake is growing, with the average person consuming close to 3,600mg daily - nearly double the recommended limit of 2,000mg (1 teaspoon).
